Tagged

I'm not always great at doing these tagging things, but since I'm getting tired (literally!) of looking at the Webdings every time I view my blog I thought I would go ahead and answer Aleah's tag. Here goes:


20 years ago I:

• Had just finished 4th grade (Mr. Roemmich's class) ... I think, if I did the math right
• Was probably vacationing with the fam in California--our yearly June ritual
• Who knows ... what did 10-year-olds do back in 1988? Scary thought!

10 years ago I:

• Had just gotten married and we were living in a teeny basement apartment (but it had a huge bedroom--the only bedroom) with a stinky couch (it was furnished, not our couch)
• Was just starting summer school at BYU and beginning the only class I got anything below a B in during college: Zoology (you know, cadavers ... good times ... I got a C-, I think ... word to the wise: don't take that class during Spring or Summer terms!)

5 years ago I:

• Was living in our first house in Provo
• Working at MarcLink cataloging Web sites for libraries
• Have no idea what else I was doing ... maybe I shouldn't have done this tag after all

3 years ago I:

• Was barely surviving with our 6-month-old, Evan (not the greatest baby)
• Was 3 years into being 2nd counselor in the Relief Society presidency (which would go on for another year)

So far this year I have:

• Enjoyed having an amazingly well-behaved, happy baby
• Desperately tried to potty-train Evan, who is exactly 3 1/2 years old today--ugh!
• Become 2nd counselor in the Relief Society presidency again (what didn't I learn last time?)
• Nearly gone insane with Casey's art studio construction

Yesterday I:

• Took Owen to the doctor after he developed a fever to make sure his cold was nothing more than that so we could make it through the long weekend without an emergency trip to the doctor; good thing I did because he has an ear infection in both ears (our family's first ear infection ever--we lasted 3 1/2 years!)
• Went to Target to get Owen's prescription
• Chatted with Ashley and her mom while the kids swam (thanks for watching Evan and bailing me out at the last minute yet again!)
• Tried to get a little something done around the house while both kids slept (hallelujah!)
• Made Club Quesadillas for dinner--YUM!
• Went to the Orem Owlz baseball game with the whole family and enjoyed waiting in a long line for treats, watching Evan play on the jungle gym and Owen play with wood chips instead of watching the game, and fireworks after the game

Today I will:

• Finally take a shower now that both kids are asleep
• Have a nice little family 4th of July BBQ
• Go watch the PG fireworks from a distance (Owen wasn't too keen on the fireworks last night) ... wow, what a productive day ... good thing it's a holiday

Tomorrow I will:

• Work on my pioneer heritage lesson for Sunday
• Hopefully get some housework done
• Who knows what else I'll be able to squeeze in

In the next year I will:

• Get Evan potty-trained (hopefully in the next 2 months so he can attend preschool)
• Rejoice that Evan will be in preschool for 2 hours, 2 days out of the week (or send him to potty-training boot camp if he can't be in preschool for that reason)
• With any luck, move all of Casey's stuff out of the "art room" and into the studio and unpack the rest of my boxes and move into the downstairs room

Whew! This really was hard. I won't tag anyone in particular. You can do it if you feel like a good memory challenge!
