Well, I figured since Evan was the star of our last post, it was Owen's turn this time. After all, he did turn 18 months old on January 17th. I'm proud(?) to say that, according to Dr. Arnold, Owen is now in the 3rd percentile for both height and weight (in other words, he measures the same as 3% of boys his age and less than 97% of boys his age). That's right--he's just a little guy. Well, except for his head, which is on the large side.
This kid is a total go-getter. He does everything his brother does and then some. He's a daredevil and a trouble-maker and he can throw tantrums like nobody's business. He climbs, he dumps, he opens, he closes, he fiddles, he jumps, he throws, he bothers ... but he's so dang cute!!! It's his saving grace.
He's getting to be quite the singer and dancer these days. And his vocabulary shocks me every day. I started keeping track of it a week or so before he hit 18 months, but all I got was a partial list. He says so much I couldn't keep up. Evan didn't say 2 words at his age! (Okay, not literally, but close.) Here's what we have so far:
please
'scuse you
cheese (for both food and camera)
bye-bye
hi
hello
I love you
all gone/all done
night-night
apple
thank you
mama/mom
dada/dad (he prefers mom and dad)
bubba (his nickname)
'nana (banana)
uh-oh
ow (for both "ouch" and "meow")
kikki (kitty)
fff-fff (woof-woof)
tickle-tickle-tickle
yea
wow
blue
more (in sign language, too! thanks, Ashley!)
juice
peek-a-boo
poop
snack (which sounds like "naaaaaaahhhh" with a throaty growl)
bubble
-my 3 personal "un-favorites" he learned from Evan are:
help
no
mine
And that's all I can think of right now. I might have to add more later. Owen is such a cute, fun kid. And while he is always making a mess or causing trouble, he is always providing a lot of comic relief, as well. Now if he can just get used to nursery, we'll be in great shape.
